A movie on Halloween: “The Shining”

Halloween is coming! Usually on Halloween, people do lots of fun activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats. However, this year, it is hard to enjoy those traditions due to the outbreak of Covid-19 and social distancing. So, how about watching a horror movie instead of doing these activities on October 31? The movie “The Shining” is a classic horror movie that many people around the world love to watch on Halloween.

At the beginning of “The Shining”, the main character of the movie, Writer Jack Torrance, arrives at the remote Overlook Hotel in the Rocky Mountains. He is interviewed for the job of winter caretaker since the hotel closes during the snowed-in months. Once he is hired, he plans to use the hotel’s solitude to write, and stay there with his family during winter. Here, a manager Stuart Ullman warns him about the hotel’s reputation: a previous caretaker killed his family and himself. However, Jack is impressed with the hotel and takes the job. When his family moves into the hotel, a series of horrible events start to happen. Eventually, he went crazy due to the influence of the supernatural forces that exist in the hotel and put his wife and son in danger.
If you are wondering what would happen to Jack’s family, spend some time with your family or friends watching “The Shining” on Halloween evening! As people light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts, you would be able to make the ghosts roaming the earth confuse you with fellow spirits by watching this horror movie, “The Shining.”
