Masterpieces of Perfection

Authors strive hard to create masterpieces of literature in so-called “artwork” to obtain public attention and acceptance. Here are some of the most remarkable books and stories for the bookworms craving for the best works. 

  1. Harry Potter (series)

A summary of the books is about a chosen child, Harry Potter, and his friends struggling to defeat their vicious enemy, Voldemort, to bring on peace in the world of wizards. The series are recommended for people who are into fantasy and mystery. For those of you who loved the books after reading them, there are also film remakes that you might want to look into them. Harry Potter series have gained popularity and honor, especially on children, for the portrayal of fictional but ecstatic mood in between the plot. 

  1. The Alchemist 

This book is about a mystical journey of a shepherd named “Santiago” seeking a treasure under a sycamore tree from his dreams. When reading the book, there are some quotes that the readers might have to lay meaning to. “The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times” (Coelho). This quote has a meaning to stand and never give up on hope amidst the darkest times. The theme of the Alchemist comes from the teachings that believing in yourself and knowing that fate is in your own hands is imperative for achievements.

  1. The Maze Runner 

This series starts with an introduction of a boy named Thomas who arrives in a glade that centers various mystical labyrinths. Thomas and his mates attempt to solve the mystery behind the maze and the world. This series is recommended to people interested in thrillers and mystery. The series is also available in the theaters. Referring to movies, it is important to question yourself if Teresa and the conductor, Ava Paige, were doing the experiments on people with a good intention and right purpose in perspectives of morality and reality. 

  1. The Selection(series) 

The series is about a struggle of a selected but impoverished girl, America Singer, who has to choose between marrying the prince of Illéa, Maxon Schreave, to live amongst the wealthy, or marrying her secret boyfriend, Aspen, for love. The series is recommended to teenagers who are dedicated to romance. Throughout the series, America Singer ponders between her personal decisions while facing reality. 

  1. Allegiant(=Divergent)

In a futuristic world that dwells upon five different factions: Abnegation, Candor, Erudite, Amity, and Dauntless, Tris Prior discovers herself a Divergent inside Dauntless. However, society considers a “Divergent” dangerous as they are free from the manipulation of one-way thinking. The leaders are terrified to the extent of capability in thinking and simulating abilities that the Divergent possesses. Tris struggles to conceal her status/identity. This book is a sci-fi and thriller as the story builds upon suspense, excitement, and shock. The book makes people estimate how the current prejudiced societal division might lead to horrific outcomes. A notable quote to mention that would give an overall idea of the correlation between Dauntless and Divergent is “Becoming fearless isn’t the point. That’s impossible. It’s learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it” (Roth). This quote will get to you when reading as Tris struggles to keep this notion inside the Dauntless.
