Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Did you happen to see any adorable animals singing, dancing, fishing or working?

Ever since the corona breakout people are unable to have any physical contact. Unable to meet anyone offline, many people are actively making connections through online. Many interesting news on what people are doing while being quarantined are constantly spot. One of them in Korea would be the lack of Nintendo switch and a certain game, called “Animal Crossing: New Horizons”.

This a popular life simulation game that was recently developed and published by Nintendo for Nintendo Switch. To briefly explain how it works, the player will create a character of their own who will move to a deserted island. Here the player now starts exploring the island, gathering and crafting items, catching insects and fish, and developing the island into a community of charming animals. This game takes place in real-time, making  it special for many players all over world.

Now people access New Horizons to meet up. NBC NEWS, gathered some comments regarding this game about how it is affecting them during quarantine. Here a dozen players said that “Animal Crossing” have helped them cope with the isolation of quarantine. For example, one group of friends threw a surprise birthday party for their friend, in the same way they might have in real life. They invited her to a house in the game and celebrated. The response from the birthday girl was this, “Under those circumstances, that’s exactly what I needed because I couldn’t see anyone that day.” Utilizing this game, players are able to keep social distancing and meeting up exclusively as a way to celebrate major events.
