I’m going to review the NFL’s 4th-week match between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the New England Patriots. This is a meaningful match for the NFL because in this match Tom Brady broke the All-Time passing yard record against his former team. As a result, Tampa Bay won by a score of 19 to 17.
First, this is how the Buccaneers won. The Patriots made just enough mistakes to give them an opening and they capitalized on it. To add insult to injury, the Patriots’ special teams ace Matthew Slater committed an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to invalidate a punt and fumble recovery.
Second, is the reason the Patriots lost. The Patriots didn’t take advantage of the Buccaneer’s offensive struggles. The Buccaneers scored 6 on 5 first-half drives, but the Patriots only scored 7 points at the break. Also, some players made meaningless penalties. The Patriots had 2 chances to hold a one-point lead in the fourth quarter but the Patriots just let Brady walk down to retake the lead.
I think the most impressive scene in this game was when Tom Brady decided to run in the fourth quarter. This scene was very surprising. Nobody expected that Brady would sprint as fast as he did to get the first down. But this choice was successful and gave an enormous lift to his team at a time when they needed it the most.
