A sophisticated and detailed diagnosis for diseases is required in the medical field. This is because the doctor himself and the patient can be at risk if just a minor error is caused to examine the name of the disease. However, with the advancement of technology, both doctors and patients can be relieved using artificial intelligence-based diagnosis technology.
AI-based diagnosis technology is mechanization that diagnoses cases based on medical data learned by artificial intelligence. Patients can obtain more accurate health examination results through two procedures, not only human doctors examining but also artificial intelligence doctors doing it. In addition to accurate diagnosis, this technology has more advantages, such as diagnosing early in an emergency patient and reducing treatment time.
An example of the usage of AI-based diagnosis technology in ophthalmology is an AI-assisted retinal fundus imaging analyzer. The Vuno-med company released it, and it helps doctors diagnose more accurately through the program. The software reads the presence or absence of illness and finds its location if there are any. It can detect glaucomatous change, retinal vein abnormalities, and more. This technique can be used in Ophthalmology and chest x-rays or brain MRIs to determine abnormal findings.
With the advancement of technology, we can prevent misdiagnosis. What if the technology even gets improved to diagnose the complex image of the body beyond a specific organ? It might be possible for AI doctors to replace human doctors and reduce expensive medical expenses that patients need to pay. This innovation will soon lead more patients to be treated and allow the medication to be preserved in developing countries, too. The improvement of technology is the development of medication and the innovation of the world. AI-assisted diagnosis technology should be further studied and improved.
