George Mason University Korea visited Seoul Scholars on May 27th for an information session. The students who attended were able to learn about the programs offered at George Mason Korea, along with its curriculum, career opportunities, professors, tuition, and application process.
George Mason Korea offers seven Majors, which are Accounting, Finance, Management (all three under the School of Business), Economics, Global Affairs, Conflict Analysis and Resolution, and Computer Game Design. The admissions officer went over each major and its programs, and mentioned that starting from next year, all students will be taking their final year of college at the main campus located in Fairfax, Virginia. Every semester, professors from the main campus make rotations the Korean campus as well, ensuring that the students at the Korean campus are offered a high level of education.
Students who are interested in applying to George Mason Korea need to submit proof of English Proficiency with test scores of minimum 80 on TOEFL iBT, IELTS over 6.5, or SAT Evidence Based Reading of at least 500. SAT/ACT scores and teacher recommendations are optional but highly recommended. The latest deadline to apply for the Fall Semester is in June, so students have more time to prepare and submit their applications for George Mason Korea. The admissions officer also mentioned that the graduation certificate from George Mason Korea appears exactly the same as the one from the main campus.
The information session was helpful for our students, and helped them to learn more about American postsecondary education options available in Korea.
