Music has continued to inspire people and became part of our lives. Without music, special occasions such as Halloween and Christmas will lack its uniqueness. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, most of us are unable to go trick-or-treating or visit a Haunted House but we can still listen to Halloween songs and vibe with them.
Because music fundamentally captures people’s mood, it is important that we select the style of music carefully. For example, during Halloween season, music that highlights spookiness is more appropriate than upbeat songs. Here are some of the songs to listen to on Halloween:
I’m in Love With a Monster – Fifth Harmony (from Hotel Transylvania 2)
Ghostbusters Theme Song
Grim Grinning Ghosts
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Haunted – Beyoncé
Thriller – Michael Jackson
Halloween – Phoebe Bridgers
Music also plays a major role in making events more memorable and mesmerizing. Neurologists proved our brains are hard-wired to connect music with long-term memory, suggesting music is linked to personal memories. For patients with dementia, the music recalls their memories by tapping deep into their emotions.
To make this year’s Halloween more haunting, playing the right music to tune into is extremely important. I look forward to hearing lots of Halloween music in public hopefully.
